TEC: Project Cost Manager (FIFO) (REF: TEC23-002)
Project Cost Manager (FI-FO Contract) on-site secondment to Owners Team to support the Project Management Team will all Project Cost Management duties for the duration of the Project
To be successful in this role, you should have as a minimum demonstrated previous experience as site based FIFO project control or cost manager and be familiar with set-up and use of Project Cost Management system, project accounting and proficient in Microsoft Office 365.
Responsibilities
The role and responsibilities of the Project Cost Manager on site will include, but not be limited to the following:
1. Management of staff: It is currently envisaged that there will be limited if any management of staff required.
2. Project Cost Management & Controls
a) Establish the Control Budget considering the approved Capital Cost Estimate, Project Execution Plan, Contract & Procurement Plan and Project Schedule in an appropriate cost management system. (PRISM recommended)
b) Ensure alignment and integration of cost and schedule and accounting systems using appropriately detailed cost coding.
c) Establish cost and commercial management processes and procedures for the Project to effectively align with:
(i) Procurement by EPCM and OWNER
(ii) Contract Administration
(iii) Planning and Scheduling
d) Project Cost Management Reporting including tracking of:
(i) Approved Budget Changes
(ii) Commitments,
(iii) Actuals (Period and cumulative)
(iv) Cost forecasts in the form of ETC and EAC values
(v) Variances (total and monthly)
(vi) Time-phased cost curves for expenditure and commitments
e) Contingency & Change Management
Requirements and skills
- Proven work experience as Project Cost Management or similar role on large / remote capital projects
- Hands-on experience with project cost management and ERP systems
- Advanced knowledge of Excel using data tables and reporting.
- Data management skills with an ability to access cost and schedule data and identify errors or discrepancies and extrapolate trends and forecasts
- Solid understanding and experience with all aspects of project execution lifecycle and the relevance of PCM functions to Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management and Commissioning.
- Good organizational and time-management abilities
Work-hours and location
- The assignment will be based on a 10-week rotation cycle consisting of 7 weeks on-site / 3 weeks off-site.
- Site work hours will be from 7 am to 5 pm Monday to Saturday and 7 am to noon on Sunday, with no work required while away from site on rotation.
- The estimated duration of the secondment is 30 Months which includes a 6-month close-out period.
